1. Recreation- Parks & playgrounds, nearby beaches, lake access, bike trails and more! Ocean Township is located very close to many area beaches, such as Asbury Park, Ocean Grove, Avon by the Sea, and more! Deal Lake allows for kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, as well as other activities. The town also offers many other recreation options, from large parks, such as Joe Palaia Park (formerly Deal Test Site) to small neighborhood playgrounds, such as Appleby playground in Wanamassa, in addition to an award winning 9 hole municipal golf course, William F. Larkin Golf Course at Colonial Terrace . Not to mention nearby Six Flags Great Adventure and Shoretown Ballpark, home of the Jersey Shore Blueclaws!
2. School System- Ocean Township offers a fine public school system which includes three neighborhood elementary schools (Wanamassa, Wayside & Ocean Twp. Elementary). Ocean Township High School was the home of Pittsburgh Steelers’ QB Kenny Pickett and Oakland Raiders’ legend Phil Villapiano and has a very good reputation amongst educators as well!
3. Neighborhoods- From Wayside and Oakhurst to Colonial Terrace and Wanamassa, Ocean Township is made up of very unique neighborhoods and they all offer something for everyone. Wanamassa, Colonial Terrace and Oakhurst are located east of Rt. 35 and close to the beaches of Asbury Park, Loch Arbour and Deal Township. Wayside is located on the west side of town and typically offers larger homes on larger properties than can be found in the other neighborhoods. Of course, there are many exceptions to this, as all four neighborhoods offer some amazing housing options.
4. Easy to Commute- Located just off the Garden State Parkway and other major highways (Rt. 18, Rt. 195, Rt. 35), Ocean Township is very convenient for commuters who drive to work, as well as those who take the train and bus. NJ Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line, with nearby stops in Asbury Park, Allenhurst, Long Branch and Bradley Beach, is a very convenient way to commute to Newark and NYC. There are also commuter buses and commuter parking along the Garden State Parkway.
5.Experience All Four Seasons- The Jersey shore is known for it’s high season in summer, but locals know that year-round there is always something to do, whether it’s winter, summer, spring or fall. September, for example, is known as “locals’ summer” because the year-round residents know this time of year offers some of the best weather, as well as smaller crowds after Labor Day. The holiday season is always special with many local attractions and events.
There is something for everyone in Ocean Township, an amazing place to live and reside in Monmouth County, NJ.

SCOTT HOBBS
I fell in love with the Jersey Shore having spent many summers here ever since I was a small child. I am originally from Scotch Plains, NJ, but I eventually set down roots down the shore and have been enjoying the Monmouth County lifestyle for more than two decades. Before entering real estate, I managed my own, highly successful, business working directly with Fortune 500 companies. There I sharpened and perfected my service, negotiating, and deal-making skills. I employ those strengths every day for the best interests of my clients, whether they are buying or selling property. I have traveled extensively around the world and during one visit to Colombia, I met my beautiful wife, Paola. Today we are raising our young son in Ocean Township.
